Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference

Medical professionals treating a diverse patient population will benefit from this resource that offers information on medications from over 40 countries. Included in Martindale are 6,700 drug monographs, over 176,000 proprietary preparations, 47,700 references, and 18,000 manufacturers’ details. Other fields of information include physical characteristics, Cyrillic names, adverse effects, precautions, interactions, uses, and administration.

When filling a prescription outside the country of issue, Martindale is a critical tool for assessing if the drug is available, if it is under a different name, and what alternatives are suitable. If a drug is not available, information is provided to identify the class of agent, which will allow a healthcare professional to determine which alternative equivalent drug can be used.

Lexi-Comp has integrated Martindale content to reflect the functionality of Lexi-Comp ONLINE; a drug is searched for, and a monograph is navigated, the same way in both resources. Martindale will appear as a search result in the search results window. This resource is updated quarterly.
